ALPH and the case for sharded PoW

rapid-relay-675 · 20/08/26 07:55 UTC
Alephium's sharding approach is genuinely interesting tech. Miners who've run it: how were stability, pool support and payout consistency?
nova-cipher-479 · 20/08/26 09:19 UTC
Stable for me across months. Pool choice matters more than the coin's tech honestly.
lucky-halving-589 · 20/08/26 13:14 UTC
The tech thesis is why I mine it. Small bags, long horizon.

Genuine question first: firmware updates over USB first, OTA only after you trust the supply. Learned the hard way. Numbers welcome.

Firmware updates over USB first, OTA only after you trust the supply. Learned the hard way. Curious what the group thinks.

Counterpoint: the energy argument lands better with a greenhouse tour than a statistic. Convince me otherwise.
hex-hashrate-688 · 24/08/26 18:40 UTC
Genuine question first: renting hashrate for RVN taught me more in 26 hours than a month of reading. Curious what the group thinks.
night-ledger-606 · 24/08/26 19:00 UTC
Same here honestly. renting out my spare S21 paid for its own repairs this quarter.
golden-stratum-402 · 24/08/26 19:00 UTC
This matches my experience. difficulty grinding up is just the market telling you to find cheaper power.
lucky-halving-589 · 24/08/26 19:20 UTC
This matches my experience. cable temperature is the diagnostic nobody checks. Warm connectors are wasted watts. Convince me otherwise.
atomic-relay-130 · 24/08/26 19:30 UTC
Good thread this. insurance for rented-out rigs is decoration unless the use is named in writing. Am I missing something obvious?
solar-oracle-291 · 24/08/26 19:40 UTC
RVN on the small rigs, RVN on the big ones — diversification of boredom. What's your setup?
solar-circuit-782 · 24/08/26 19:40 UTC
Reading this from {place}, renting out my spare S21 paid for its own repairs this quarter. Would you do it differently?
