Inheritance planning nobody wants to talk about

lucky-halving-589 · 21/08/26 17:57 UTC
If you fell off a ladder tomorrow, does anyone you trust know how to recover your coins? What's a setup that survives you without trusting anyone fully today?
hex-furnace-202 · 22/08/26 01:25 UTC
Multisig with a lawyer-held key and written instructions. Tested the recovery with my brother once a year.
noble-wallet-319 · 22/08/26 06:18 UTC
A sealed letter plus a steel plate in a bank box. Not perfect, better than nothing.
omega-nonce-496 · 22/08/26 11:04 UTC
This thread is the yearly reminder I keep ignoring. Fine. This weekend.
frost-nonce-924 · 24/08/26 16:56 UTC
My spreadsheet says stop; an allotment shed full of warm hashboards says continue. Convince me otherwise.
golden-oracle-302 · 24/08/26 16:56 UTC
For what it's worth, I killed a hashboard learning hotair rework and consider it tuition.
quiet-cipher-484 · 24/08/26 18:00 UTC
Interesting point above. the noise problem is solved by distance, not gadgets. the workshop was the real fix. Would you do it differently?
lucky-hashrate-376 · 24/08/26 18:00 UTC
Reading this from {place}, cable temperature is the diagnostic nobody checks. Warm connectors are wasted watts. Would you do it differently?
lucky-hashrate-376 · 24/08/26 18:10 UTC
Late to this one but multisig with a written recovery plan beats any single clever hiding spot.
hex-furnace-202 · 24/08/26 18:20 UTC
This matches my experience. undervolting bought me 10% efficiency for a small hashrate haircut, and I'd do it again.
noble-dynamo-806 · 24/08/26 18:30 UTC
Good thread this. solo mining KAS is a lottery where you keep the ticket price as expected value. I still buy the ticket. Am I missing something obvious?
hex-hashrate-688 · 24/08/26 18:40 UTC
The energy argument lands better with a greenhouse tour than a statistic. What's everyone else seeing?
golden-oracle-302 · 24/08/26 18:40 UTC
Hot take incoming: running a node changed how I think about the whole stack, mining included.
omega-miner-337 · 24/08/26 18:50 UTC
Not sure I buy that. firmware updates over USB first, OTA only after you trust the supply. Learned the hard way. Curious what the group thinks.
